11/18/2008 - Milan, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has been named the Serie A coach of the year for last season.
Mancini, 43, was dumped by Inter in favor of Jose Mourinho during the summer despite leading the club to three straight Serie A titles.
The former Italy forward has yet to return to work following his dismissal but has been named the winner of the Panchina D'Oro award for the 2007-08 campaign.
The accolade - which translates as the "Golden Bench" award - was won in each of the past two seasons by Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli.
"I want to thank all the coaches that have voted for me," said Mancini. "I also want to thank the Inter players who made it possible."
